Hello, my
name is Ariel.

I’m a rather observant person who loves nothing more than bringing ideas to life through thoughtful, vibrant design. I’m especially fascinated by the transformative power of type and color—how even just the mildest use can energize and redefine the result. It’s why I love brand and logo design, painting, and illustration. I love learning new things too, in fact a quote I often live by is “be brave enough to suck at something new” – a phrase which keeps me grounded, inspired, and humbles me as I grow both in my professional journey and in life.

I’ve been studying art and design since I was 14 years old, volunteering and assisting personally under the head designer at Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District (THPRD), the largest recreation center in Oregon. In 2017, I studied graphic design abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark, and even took a personal typography course with Denmark’s only full time sign painter, Jakob Engberg. This encouraged my passion for typography, and managed to land myself a winter internship the following year at a small book design studio called Faceout Studio in Bend, Oregon. By June 2019, I graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Fine Art and a minor in photography. I’ve had a few design positions since then, but I still do a little freelance work and personal projects on the side for fun.
